Rent Payment T&C

Eligibility

The rent payment via credit card feature (hereinafter referred to as “Rent Payment Feature”) is offered by Kiwi to eligible customers to make rent payments using their credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, or Rupay) through the Kiwi app.

Usage

The Rent Payment Feature facilitates credit card-based rental payments from customers (rent payers) to landlords or property managers (rent receivers), collectively referred to as “Counterparties”.``

By initiating a rent payment, the customer authorizes Kiwi to charge the selected credit card and disburse the payment (after deducting applicable fees) to the designated Counterparty. It is acknowledged that:
  1. The Counterparty may or may not be a Kiwi user.
  2. Kiwi holds no contractual relationship with the Counterparty.
  3. Kiwi is not acting as an agent for the customer or the Counterparty.

Kiwi’s role is strictly limited to processing the payment based on the customer's instructions. Once a transaction is initiated, it is non-reversible and non-refundable, and Kiwi will not be liable for any loss arising from such transactions.

Payments are processed only after Kiwi receives:
  1. The payment amount from the customer's credit card or other selected instrument;
  2. Any additional information that may be requested from the customer.

Kiwi shall not be held responsible for delays caused by banks, card networks, or payment gateways.

Any timelines mentioned on the Kiwi app or related platforms are indicative only and shall not be considered as guarantees. Kiwi reserves the right to delay, suspend, or reject transactions if there is a suspicion of fraud, security risk, unauthorized use, legal violation, or breach of the Rent Payment Feature Terms & Conditions.

Kiwi reserves the right to suspend, modify, or discontinue this feature for any customer without prior notice, especially to avoid misuse.

Indemnification

Customers shall not hold Kiwi responsible or liable for any dispute or issue arising between the customer and the bank, payment gateway, or Counterparty. The customer agrees to indemnify Kiwi against any third-party claims (including those from the Counterparty, bank, payment gateway, or any other entity) arising out of payments made or attempted using the Rent Payment Feature through the customer’s account.

Customer Responsibilities

The customer is solely responsible for:
  1. Ensuring accuracy in all details entered, including the Counterparty’s bank account;
  2. Selecting the appropriate payment instrument (including saved credit cards);
  3. Entering the correct payment amount.

In case of incorrect entries, the customer shall bear full responsibility for the outcome and any charges incurred. Kiwi may, at its sole discretion and without obligation, assist in reversing such transactions if technically feasible.

Kiwi may request additional documentation from the customer from time to time, including but not limited to:
  1. PAN of the Counterparty;
  2. The customer's PAN;
  3. Valid rental agreements or any other supporting documents.

Failure to provide such documentation within 72 hours may result in transaction failure and potential revocation of the customer’s access to the Rent Payment Feature.

Chargebacks

A transaction may be subject to chargeback under the following circumstances:
  1. It is disputed by the customer;
  2. It is reversed by the issuing bank or payment processor;
  3. It is found to be unauthorized;
  4. It violates any laws or these Terms & Conditions.

In such cases, the customer shall be liable to immediately refund Kiwi the full amount of the chargeback, including any fees, penalties, or fines levied by the bank, card association, or payment processor.

The customer agrees to cooperate with Kiwi during investigations of disputed transactions. Failure to provide supporting documentation within 72 hours may result in an irreversible chargeback and possible suspension of the customer’s access to the Rent Payment Feature or the Kiwi app.
