Linking your YES Bank credit card to UPI lets you pay at any QR code merchant using your credit limit instead of your bank balance. Before you start, there is one essential requirement: only YES Bank RuPay credit cards can be linked to UPI. If your YES Bank card is on the Visa or Mastercard network, it will not appear as an option in any UPI app. This is a restriction set by NPCI, not by the bank or the app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Make sure you have the following ready before attempting to link your card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A YES Bank RuPay credit card.<\/strong> This can be the Klick card (issued via Kiwi), POP Club, PaisaSave RuPay, Uni RuPay, FinBooster RuPay, or the generic YES Bank RuPay companion card. Visa and Mastercard variants will not work on UPI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Your registered mobile number.<\/strong> The mobile number linked to your YES Bank credit card account must be the same number registered on your UPI app. If these numbers do not match, the linking process will fail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A supported UPI app.<\/strong> You can link your YES Bank RuPay credit card on Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, and the Kiwi app. Most other UPI apps also support RuPay credit card linking, though the interface may vary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Active internet connection.<\/strong> The linking process requires OTP verification and bank server communication, so a stable connection is needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Google Pay is the most widely used UPI app in India. Here is how to add your YES Bank RuPay credit card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Step 1:<\/strong> Open Google Pay and tap on your profile picture in the top-right corner. Then tap on Bank accounts or Payment methods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Step 2:<\/strong> Tap the Add button or the + icon. Look for the option that says Add credit card to UPI or Link RuPay credit card. On some versions, this appears under Add bank account with credit card as a sub-option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Step 3:<\/strong> Select YES BANK from the list of banks. Google Pay will search for RuPay credit cards associated with your registered mobile number.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Step 4:<\/strong> Your YES Bank RuPay credit card will appear. Select it and proceed to set your UPI PIN. If you already use YES Bank mobile banking (iris app), your existing MPIN will serve as your UPI PIN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Step 5:<\/strong> Confirm the setup. Your YES Bank RuPay credit card is now linked and will appear as a payment option whenever you scan a QR code or make a UPI payment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n PhonePe was one of the early adopters of RuPay credit card support on UPI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Step 1:<\/strong> Open PhonePe and go to the My Money section or tap on your profile. Look for Payment Methods or Bank Accounts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Step 2:<\/strong> Tap Add New Account or Link Credit Card. Select the option to add a RuPay credit card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Step 3:<\/strong> Choose YES BANK from the bank list. When scanning a QR code or entering a UPI ID for payment, select the YES Bank credit card as your payment source instead of your savings account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If your YES Bank Klick card was issued through Kiwi, it is the simplest linking process since the card and UPI interface are integrated in one app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Step 1:<\/strong> Open the Kiwi app and log in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Step 2:<\/strong> Your YES Bank Klick RuPay card should already be visible on the home screen. If not, navigate to the Cards section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Step 3:<\/strong> Tap on the card and follow the prompt to enable UPI payments. Set your UPI PIN if you have not already.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Step 4:<\/strong> The card is now ready for UPI Scan & Pay. You can use the Kiwi app’s built-in scanner to pay at any UPI QR merchant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For Kiwi users, this is the recommended setup since the app also tracks your cashback earnings and provides a unified dashboard for card management and UPI payments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The BHIM app, developed by NPCI, supports RuPay credit card linking as a core feature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 1:<\/strong> Open the BHIM app and go to the Bank Account section from the home screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 2:<\/strong> Tap Add Account and select YES BANK from the bank list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 3:<\/strong> The app will show available accounts linked to your mobile number, including your RuPay credit card. Select the credit card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 4:<\/strong> Set your UPI PIN using your card details and OTP verification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 5:<\/strong> The card is linked. Select it as the payment source when making transactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Once your YES Bank RuPay credit card is linked, making a payment is identical to paying from a bank account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At a physical store:<\/strong> Open your UPI app, tap Scan & Pay, and point your camera at the merchant’s QR code. Enter the payment amount. Select your YES Bank credit card from the payment source dropdown (instead of your savings account). Enter your UPI PIN and confirm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For online payments:<\/strong> When checking out on a website or app that supports UPI, enter your UPI ID or scan the QR code. Select your YES Bank credit card as the funding source and complete the payment with your UPI PIN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Peer-to-peer restriction:<\/strong> Note that RuPay credit cards on UPI can only be used for merchant payments (Scan & Pay and online payments). You cannot use them for person-to-person (P2P) money transfers. Only RuPay credit cards can be linked. Check your card details or contact YES Bank to confirm the network. If you hold a Visa\/Mastercard from YES Bank, you may be eligible for a free RuPay companion card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Mobile number mismatch.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The mobile number registered with your YES Bank credit card must match the number registered on your UPI app. If they are different, the app will not detect your card. Contact YES Bank customer care at 1800-103-1212 to update your registered mobile number.<\/p>\n\n\n\n UPI PIN setup failing.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n If the PIN setup fails repeatedly, try the following: ensure your card is activated, check that you are entering the correct last 6 digits and expiry date, and make sure you have an active SMS connection to receive the OTP. Check your available limit in the Kiwi or iris app. Also verify that your card is not blocked for any reason.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “Bank not responding” error.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n This is a temporary server issue on YES Bank’s end. Wait 15-30 minutes and try again. If the issue continues for hours, contact YES Bank customer care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n UPI PIN is same as mobile banking MPIN.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n For existing iris by YES Bank or YES Mobile banking users, your UPI PIN will be the same as your existing MPIN.
